The law of attraction and social media.

Social Network Concept Stock PhotoI’ve been focusing on social media a lot this week.  I often talk with people about the benefits of using social media to promote their business.  There are still many people who feel totally confused in this world of Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest…

It can be confusing and I come across a lot of people who simply don’t want to do it because they don’t understand it.

Today I’d like to focus on clearing a few things up and hopefully making social media life a little easier.

What do you want to achieve?

Take a pen and piece of paper and write down what you would want to achieve by using social media.  After all if you are going to dedicate any business time to it, you need to know why?

  • Attract potential clients
  • Build relationships with potential clients
  • Share Advice
  • Build stronger relationships with current clients
  • Share information
  • Share offers
  • Attract potential business opportunities
  • Attract potential joint business opportunities
  • Share your services
  • Share your products
  • Attract clients locally and Worldwide

These are all things that social media helps you to do.

Choose your platform

The best thing about social media is that it’s huge and is an everyday part of life for the vast majority of the world and it’s free.  You get to put your business in front of hundreds, thousands… of people every time you post a message.

Now I have to point out that this isn’t going to happen overnight, it will take time and continuous effort on your part.

Personally I recommend that everyone start with Facebook and Twitter at least and then move onto explore other platforms such as pintrest, linkedin, google+

The key is to get started and get comfortable with this experience.

Who is your target market?

Who is your ideal client?  When you post anything on social media imagine that you are speaking directly to your ideal client.  Having said this you must not use social media as a constant add platform.  That’s certainly not what people like.

What to post about

People often say to me “But what would I talk about?”

Well there’s no doubt about it, you do need to get creative to attract interest.  In the old fashioned way of advertising your business you placed an add in the paper etc.  There was nothing very personal about it, just information about the business.  With social media your reader, followers, likers, friends… want to here about you (not your general day to day rubbish like telling people you brushed your teeth etc) but they do want to be able to work out from your posts that you are the sort of person that they want to do business with.  They want to form a business relationship with you.

You can post about what you are currently doing that is business related ~ Working on a new project, writing a blog post, training, out and about, launching a new product/service… and yes even having a cup of tea.

Of course it will depend on the type of business as to what you put.

Don’t link everything

Okay this is something I personally feel strongly about.  Don’t make your posts one link after another.  Share value, tips, quotes you like…

If you are attracting interest people will find out how to do business with you without filling up your wall (social media page) with hundreds of links.

Now having said that links are a big part of social media and I use them loads (just not every post).  You can link to your website, blog, a blog post, an interesting article… just make sure you add a useful comment too.

The law of attraction

Every time you use social media think about what you want to achieve.

Here’s a link to a post on my Business Booster Facebook Page >>> Click  Business Booster Post

Feel free to like my page and share your business page with me via the link above.

When I wrote this post it was with the intention of getting business owners to interact on my page.  I knew what I wanted to achieve before I posted it.

Get clear about what you want, focus on it and imagine already having achieved it.

Social media is a  two way win

Remember that social media is mostly about building relationships, trust and adding value.

Give value and you will attract interest in your business.  It has to go both ways.

Affirmation for social media success

“For every minute I dedicate to social media ~ I attract more and more genuine interest in my business”

I really hope this post helps you in your business.  Wendy
